Sympathetic to the landscape and eclectic in style, this unique property has been built by an amazing couple who have sailed the world in their fabulous wooden yacht, and their wealth of experiences and sense of fun ooze from every nook and perfectly formed cranny!

The property consists of two independent buildings, which are set far apart on the acre lot and are completely private from each other.

THE MONKEY HOUSE

The open plan great room is ambient and extremely convivial. The kitchen holds centre stage and is open on all sides with bar stools for friends to enjoy a apero while you prepare supper. It is fully fitted with appliances and is the heart of the house.

Several seating areas and dining options are arranged around the room, creating a gentleman’s club feel in the glow of the beautifully polished hard wood floors.

An office area is off to one side and the master bedroom is on this floor, with a traditional four poster canopy bed holding centre stage. A en suite powder room also opens on the other side for guests.

Upstairs is the second bedroom which opens on to the first floor verandah and there is the option to create a 3rd bedroom up here from the room which is currently laid out as a dressing room/hobby room.

Lower ground floor houses a shower room, laundry and workshop.

THE LOVE SHACK

This self contained studio cottage is located down a lit pathway and is totally secluded from The Monkey house. Completed in 2006 it is finished off in a marine style with lots of nautical accents. Glowing greenheart wood floors imbue a feeling of calm and you will dream of being at sea in this romantic cottage.

The craftsmanship and all the little secrets of layout and storage make the Love Shack feel like you will never want to leave. The other half is outside the doors, where the deck hovers in the treetops (monkeys at eye-level), with a view of the Caribbean beyond and Nevis Peak rising up behind you.

The Love Shack is operated by the owners as a successful Air BnB and guest accommodation – the ratings for the cottage are stellar and they attract a steady stream of repeat visitors.

OUTSIDE

The grounds are stocked with a huge variety of tropical plants, and the owners organic veggie garden.

There is a car port and a garden shed and a lovely wooden swing which hangs from an old tree waiting to create new childhood memories.

The property is only 10 minutes to the charming capital Charlestown, and 15 minutes from nearest beaches and beach bars.

The wonderful Bananas restaurant is your nearest local as is the delightful Hermitage Plantation – a very convivial bar and meeting place and a must try for Caribbean buffets on Wednesdays and Friday sundowners and pizzas with the eclectic regulars.
